Jorge Martins
Director of the Wood Engineering Department | IP Viseu
Jorge Manuel Martins is graduated in Chemical Engineering. He obtained a Master degree in Wood Sciences from the Université de Nancy I in 1990. He is currently Coordinator Professor at IPV- Polytechnical University of Viseu, where he teaches courses in Technology and Furniture Design.
He is Director of the Wood Engineering Department, have been Director of the Wood Engineering Courses until 2015. He was the author of the course plans including the master’s course and the course in partnership with IPP.
He is a member of LEPABE (Laboratory of Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy) belonging to ALiCE (Associate Laboratory for Innovation in Chemical Engineering). He is a member of the board of Colab ARCP (Polymer Competence Network Association). He is also a member of the technical standardization committee CT14-Madeiras-
His research interests include sustainable materials, machinability, AI applied to surface assessment and Industry 4.0.
